Slip into your swimsuit and brace yourself for a sun-soaked adventure on Malta’s breathtakingly beautiful beaches! 🏖️☀️

1. Mellieha Bay

Mellieha Bay, also know by the locals as, Ghadira Bay, is the largest sandy beach in Malta, situated in the northern part of the main island! The water here is shallow, perfect for kids to play and build sandcastles. This beach isn’t just for kids – adults love it too! You’ll find people of all ages playing beach rackets, soaking up the sun, or relaxing with a good book by the sea. In the summer, there’s a fun water park with big inflatable slides you can go on for a small fee. You can also try jet skiing, sausage rides, or paddle boating. And if you’re feeling hungry, there are snack kiosks selling ice cream and drinks. It’s easy to get here by taking the “Ghajn Tuffieha” bus from the Imhasel bus stop.

2. Golden Bay

Golden Bay is a beautiful sandy beach that’s loved by both tourists and locals alike. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas here, and there are kiosks selling ice creams, snacks, and drinks. Remember to stay within the swimming area and follow the flag signs, especially if the weather is windy – there might be strong water currents. It’s easy to get to this beach by bus from the Imhasel bus stop.

3. Riviera Bay (Ghajn Tuffieha Bay)

Riviera Bay is a charming sandy beach located just a 2-minute walk from Golden Bay. It features distinctive orange-red sand, making it a unique spot. Unlike Golden Bay, it’s smaller and tends to be less crowded. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas here, and there’s a kiosk offering food, drinks, and ice creams. Getting here by public transport is easy – just hop on the bus from the Imhasel bus stop and take the Ghajn Tuffieha bus, and stop at the penultimate bus stop.

4. Blue Lagoon, Comino

The stunning Blue Lagoon beach on Comino got crystal-clear waters and sandy bottoms that shine through! Situated between Malta and Gozo, it’s a popular spot, especially in the summer. Don’t forget to snap some cool pics for your social media! Plus, there are kiosks selling yummy food, ice creams, and drinks. Getting there is easy – just hop on the ferry from Bugibba Getty, which is a quick 5-minute walk from your apartment, check our article here. (Note that currently the ferries are sometimes leaving from next to the Sirens Aquatic Park, due to maintenance work on the Bugibba Getty). 5. Ir-Ramla il-Hamra, Gozo

Ramla il-Hamra Bay, literally translating to “the red sandy beach,” owes its name to its distinctive reddish sand. This stunning sandy stretch in Gozo is a favorite among tourists and locals alike. What we adore about it is its natural surroundings, with fewer buildings around, making it the perfect place to unwind and disconnect. To reach this paradise, you can catch a bus from Victoria Terminus in Gozo or opt for an Uber or Bolt taxi ride. Keep in mind that buses in Gozo are less frequent, so an Uber or Bolt taxi ride might be more convenient.
